A hands-on technology leader with a blend of experience in data science & big-data engineering, and a product mindset.

In the past few years, I have been working with leading companies in the legal tech industry, developing advanced search and analytics platform based SaaS research products that serve business customers in the legal and IP domains.

I specialize in: developing content enrichment systems that process large-scale unstructured text data to produce data of business value (e.g. entities, relationships, etc.); and building end-to-end full text, multilingual search system (w/ Solr or Elasticsearch), supporting sophisticated features such as DSL, query understanding, suggestions, relevancy, ranking, etc. - based on enrichments, taxonomies, ontologies and applied search science.

I always strive to understand the domain and customer issues/business use-cases in detail, to better design the solution. I ensure the search solution developed is evaluated rigorously, both qualitatively and qualitatively, so that it is performant, accurate, and solves the real problem.

My technical interests and experience are in the areas of: Search (Information Retrieval), Natural Language Processing, Machine Learning, Semantic Web, and Knowledge Graphs.

Besides technical interests, I tend to approach the system we develop as a technical product and try to adopt the principles of tech product management (by SVPG/Marty Cagan) in my work where possible.
