Senior Azure Data Engineer and Technical Lead with 10+ years of experience designing and building Azure Data & Analytics platforms, data warehouses and pipelines. Currently serving as lead architect for the BI/COLS team at NIPV (public safety domain), processing both batch and streaming data from diverse sources. Previously built business and HR reporting, production analyses and cost management systems at Laerdal Medical (global medical equipment manufacturer). I also independently run my own consultancy (IITS B.V.), which gives me a strong understanding of what HR, Finance and management actually need — allowing me to deliver added value rather than just what is asked. Responsible for designing and building the Azure Data Analytics platform handling both batch and streaming workloads from diverse sources: incident registrations, operational systems, registers, safety region applications and external APIs. Implemented Medallion architecture on Azure Databricks with Unity Catalog and Delta Lake. Built metadata-driven ETL/ELT pipelines with Azure Data Factory and Databricks. Designed datamarts for incidents, operational KPIs, planning, capacity and safety-region reporting. Built a REST API layer on top of the data warehouse. Provided training and architecture advice on DBT. Implemented data quality, Unity Catalog governance, role-based access and audit logging. Set up Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines and secured the network with Azure VNETs, firewalls and private endpoints.
