Felix Meritis

Telos’ mission is to accelerate the advent of a humane technology future. It is a US-based humane tech startup countering one of the world's largest unaddressed problems: the attention economy. The economic engine behind the technological narcotics of the 21st century.

Rivaling climate change in scope, its disastrous negative externalities have decimated the well-being of an entire generation, degraded countless authentic companionships globally, and become the forcing function behind the Post-Truth Era by insidiously corrupting the world's primary information sources. Ultimately, undermining humanity's greatest strength of all—our capacity for human collaboration. The sooner we move away from the attention economy, the better.

Founded by me (Felix Meritis), with 9+ years as a UI/UX designer, 4+ years as a web developer, and 1+ year in React Native. I decided to devote my life not just to the principles of humane technology, but to the dissemination of practical insights of the psychology of human flourishing.

As a beachhead, Telos Alpha is currently in development: an exclusive app for MIT/Harvard students, handling study events, tasks, and focus sessions with adaptive notification blocking to boost deep focus and lessen student burnout for those under the highest academic pressures imaginable.

Designed, branded, and developed the climate tech startup site for Blauwe Bagger, an innovative Dutch startup striving for the EU's 2050 net-zero target. Blauwe Bagger has found a new way to mitigate emissions by wasting less and reusing more: an on-location filtering mechanism that recycles a larger percentage of the 40 million m³ of dredged sediment ('bagger') the Netherlands government discards annually at high cost.

Collaborated with San Francisco-based founders Nate Sesti and Ty Dunn (YC S23) to accelerate their product roadmap for Continue.dev, the leading open-source AI code assistant with over 2 million installs across VS Code and JetBrains marketplaces. Together, we launched Continue Hub—a marketplace for discovering, sharing, and installing customizable components like ready-to use LLMs for coding, prompts, rules, docs, and task configs. This empowers devs to build tailored AI agents to accelerate their work. It was truly an honor to work with these two technical founders—true builders laser-focused on crafting something people love. In a short time, I learned immensely and fell in love

with coding and software's technical side through this collaboration and their amazing tool, Continue.dev.
