I take a hands-on approach, spending about 70% of my time coding and 30% on management. I identify technical bottlenecks, design solutions and communicate them to the team, architects and upper management. I improved DevOps bottom-up and helped to introduce best AI practices.

I also worked hands on across several key applications, including a reporting platform for banks that supports the upload, validation, and aggregation of billions of highly confidential records using Go, Python, and MarkLogic. In addition, I contributed hands on to a VAT revision calculation tool designed for companies managing large real estate portfolios.

I worked full-stack on several key features, including implementing a time-series activity log, authentication, and authorization. During this time, I used Neo4j, MongoDB, Kubernetes, Helm, GitHub Actions, Node.js, and GraphQL.

Due to technical debt, some users experienced load times exceeding 90 seconds. I re-architected and implemented the search and listing functionality resulting in loading times well below 1 second. I also worked on a RAG based AI agent and an AI powered translation feature.

I was recognized for my work and promoted to technical lead on another team.

Grandvision is the holding company of brands like Pearle, Eyewish, VisionExpress and 12 others. The software department consists of 40+ developers divided over 5 teams.

I had a front-end focussed role, but also supported the platform as a whole and actively enhanced the CI/CD tooling using Azure, Docker, Kubernetes, and automation scripts. I lead the development of automating the FE releases of 14 brands, reducing deployment time from multiple days to hours and saving 2 FTEs.
