Hi, I’m Martijn from Good Sound, a location sound recordist specializing in professional audio for film, documentaries, interviews, and video productions. I work on set with filmmakers, production companies, and content creators to capture clean, reliable dialogue and ambient sound during filming.

My focus is location sound recording, ensuring that dialogue and natural sound are recorded clearly and professionally on set. Good production sound saves time in post-production and helps create a more natural and immersive final film.

I’m available as a location sound recordist. In addition to my work on documentaries, I’d really enjoy working on a fiction or reality project again. I own several complete sets and have an ATA carnet.

Location Sound Recordist — Netflix | Tour de France Documentary (Team Alpecin–Deceuninck)

Worked as the lead Location Sound Recordist on a Netflix documentary production embedded with Team Alpecin–Deceuninck throughout the full Tour de France cycle. Together with the Director of Photography, I operated as a two-person embedded unit within the team, capturing verité audio during the most demanding moments of the race.

My role involved recording high-quality production sound across a wide range of unpredictable environments including team buses, race starts and finishes, hotel preparations, strategy meetings, mechanical zones, and behind-the-scenes rider interactions. The work required fast adaptation, minimal footprint, and maintaining broadcast-quality audio in extremely dynamic and noisy race conditions.

The assignment covered the entire production timeline: pre-race preparation and team integration, the three-week Tour de France itself, and post-race follow-ups. This included wiring riders and staff when possible, capturing intimate documentary moments, coordinating closely with the DOP for mobility and framing, and ensuring clean dialogue and ambient sound that preserved the authenticity of the team’s experience.

The project demanded discretion, endurance, and technical precision while operating inside one of the most intense environments in professional sports, delivering cinematic documentary sound for a global Netflix audience.
