Thijs is half Dutch, half Australian and born in Nijmegen, the Netherlands. Having spent his formative years as a freelance designer at various agencies and projects around the Netherlands, he lived in Melbourne the last 4 years to explore the southern hemisphere and focus on graphic design and motion graphics for various freelance projects. Adding to that another half year in Kyoto, Japan for remote work, ramen and experiencing the Japanese design ways, he is now back home, living and working from Utrecht.

Specialties are working within brand and identity guidelines, either using digital, print or motion design to make that identity truly speak for itself. Also adept at illustration, storytelling, websites, packaging, apps, interactive installations or a combination of those to make a unique experience.

His experience has made him astute in his work by recognizing the most effective media to tell his client’s stories in the best possible way. He prides himself on his ability to create a single cohesive work across multiple platforms.
