Building a startup company in the biotechnology space put me in the position to pursue a broad range of business development activities. With projects in bioreactor control and microbial community engineering I am responsible for developing company strategy, acquisition of customers and project management. Active fundraising is also part of my tasks. I have prepared business plans, financial plans and company presentations.

From investor pitches to customer technology showcases, I am effective in conveying my excitement and message clearly and with a call to action. I have a high affinity with the life sciences sector with specific experience in the field of environmental biotechnology, pharmaceutical process technology and laboratory hardware. I excel at building stakeholder relations, communication and reaching concrete milestones in a timely manner.

Responsibilities revolve around the translation of technical innovation in the field of biologicals to commercial seed products. To accomplish this I have guided defining a vision, written a strategy and implemented a project based approach to reach our goals. Part of my tasks were consultation with the board of directors and inspiring department management. I was an ambassador for the biologicals subject within the company and proactively shared opportunities. Managing collaborations with external companies was a part of my daily activities. In addition I coordinated multiple market access working groups and I was part of the core team shaping an internal program aimed at improving the environmental impact of Rijk Zwaan products.

Together with one colleague I have been responsible for all ELGA water purification systems and consumable sales. Besides taking customers through their journey to obtain purified laboratory water, I have helped installing and servicing systems when needed. The most fun was helping customers define their needs and suggesting custom solutions together with the field engineers, solving unique challenges.
