I am a progressive idealist with 20+ years’ experience in storytelling, advocacy and communication management. My mission is to create a more inclusive world through my communication practice.
RANGE
Throughout my career, I have played different roles from individual contributor to team manager and trusted advisor. Having worked in a broad range of industries -- news & media, science & health, European-funded research and innovation, international development and technology -- taught me flexibility. With my broad communication experience & skill set, I can easily maneuver between tactical and strategic roles.
GOOD COMMS
My mission is to use communication to contribute to a more inclusive world whether in creating better places to work (internal comms) or facilitating positive sustainable change (e.g. climate change, diversity & inclusion, sustainability). I am available for interim communication management, project-based development communication, and strategic advice & mentoring via my company Good Comms.
ALWAYS IMPROVING
Fluent in English, Filipino and Dutch, I am always learning and challenging myself. In 2021, I finished my Executive MSc in Corporate Communication at the RSM Erasmus University with a research on "internal communication & belonging in the virtual workplace" where I developed a framework that can be used to improve the current state of belonging at work. This year, 2022, I am getting certified in transformational coaching to add depth to my practice. My networks include the Institute of Internal Communication, Chartered Institute of PR, and LOGEION.
BEYOND WORK
Next to my work, I lead a LeanIn Circle and volunteer as "50 Ways to Fight Bias" Facilitator. I love to travel ultralight, grow my bookshelf and geek out on strengths psychology and brain science. A self-confessed prepper, I live with my urban farmer husband and preschooler in South Holland.
